Hewitt Power and Communications performs work for municipalities, CLEC’s, utilities, private industry and the government. The communications side of the business focuses on duct and manhole systems; trenching and boring; plowing; tunneling; maintenance; cable pulling, splicing and service to the home. Aerial capabilities include pole, guy and anchor placement; cable splicing and renewal; maintenance and removal of existing telephone plant. In addition to these services we offer complete solutions related to voice, CATV and high speed internet access including engineering and/or turn-key design build capabilities for gas and power distribution projects. Gas distribution
capabilities include mainline extensions and services for both steel and
plastic pipe, leak repair, cast iron pipe replacement and restoration. Our
power group performs work on both underground and aerial distribution
projects. The some of the services we provide include the installation of
underground conduit and substructure, manholes, wire stringing and re-conductoring, vaults,
hand-holes and pull boxes, cable pulling, meter installs, and pole installs including removal and replacement. For underground construction, HP&C uses vacuum excavation to handle utility location, identification, protection and repair needs with peak efficiency. This method results in minimum pavement or sod removal, less traffic disruption and reduced impact on the environment. HP&C are innovators
in joint trenching and have successfully completed projects with 3-5
different utilities in one common trench. Our approach includes direct
interface with residential builders for design, installation, termination
and the purchase and control of materials.
